What is a discovery flight?
A discovery flight is your first taste of flying! It’s an introductory lesson where you’ll sit in the pilot’s seat, learn basic controls, and even take the controls under the guidance of a Certified Flight Instructor. It’s a hands-on, unforgettable experience that gives you a feel for what learning to fly is all about.
What should I bring to my first flight?
For your first flight, bring a government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license or passport) and wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Sunglasses are also a good idea to protect your eyes from glare while flying.
Do I need any prior experience to take a flight lesson?
Not at all! No prior experience is needed to begin flight training. Our instructors are here to teach you everything you need to know from the ground up, starting with the basics.
Is it safe to learn how to fly?
Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. Our instructors are highly trained professionals, and the aircraft you’ll fly are meticulously maintained to meet or exceed all FAA standards.
Will I get to fly the airplane during my first lesson?
Yes! During a discovery flight or first lesson, your instructor will handle the takeoff and landing, but you’ll have the chance to take the controls and fly the airplane during the flight.
